Mid-century pendant lamp COCOON by Achille Castiglioni for Flos was made in Italy in the 1960s. The structure of the lamp is covered using a highly innovative manufacturing technique for the time, a sprayed plastic polymer applied over an metal framework. This was a reimagining of a process initially developed by the military to create an elastics and resistant membrane that mimicked the appearance of vellum. This lamp is in good vintage condition.
