Beautiful antique pewter tray or fruit bowl made in Italy at the beginning of the 20th century. Amazing large oval pewter plate with fluted edges and a beautiful patina of time. Pewter is a malleable metal alloy consisting of tin (85–99%), antimony (approximately 5–10%), copper (2%), bismuth, and sometimes silver. Pewter is an attractive metal which has been used for the production of household and other items since Roman times. The tray has the original manufacturer's label.
