Mid-century pendant lamp “Pi cavo“ by Sergio Mazza for Artemide made in Italy in the 1960s. Sergio Mazza was born in Milan in 1931. He soon became a designer and in 1955 began his freelance career. Since 1961, he worked alongside G. Gramigna at the Smc studio, focusing on furniture and industrial design. Among the many awards and honors he received, we can mention the Compasso d'Oro award in 1960 for the Delta lamp by Artemide, and the silver medal for Italian Apartment at the Triennale. From 1967, he also began designing for Olivari, creating the Macco handles for the Giuliana model with Gramigna. In addition, he directed the "Ottagono" magazine with Gramigna from its inception until 1988 in the publishing field.
