Rosanna Toso, a luminary within the esteemed Toso family, played an integral role in Murano Island's artistic legacy, particularly with the pioneering Barovier Toso company. Collaborating with her siblings, she contributed her talents to the revered "Fratelli Toso" (1854-1983), serving as its director from the mid-1970s until its closure in 1983. Following this chapter, Rosanna immersed herself in the realm of light design, leaving an indelible mark at Leucos. Among her notable creations is the enchanting "Idra" series, born in 1982, and subsequently manifested in various sizes and hues, adorning spaces as exquisite table lamps and sconces. Employing the artistic Sommerso technique, these lamps showcase the meticulous layering of glass sheets to achieve both substance and a captivating illusion of depth. Nestled within these layers are carefully positioned murrines, adding a touch of artistry that evokes the impression of a cascading waterfall, gracefully descending from the pinnacle to the base of each captivating globe.
