Antique silver plated teapot made in Sheffield, England in the 1890-1910s. Silver plated is used to denote - the method was invented in the city of Sheffield in about 1743 by goldsmith Thomas Boulsover. Objects made with the metal obtained by hot rolling unroll silver leaves on copper. This process fell into disuse after the adoption of the system of Silver Plating (silver plating of the base metal obtained with a galvanic bath), which began in 1850. Such a processing system was commonly called Silver Plate. The antique teapot has the original manufacturer's label. Very good vintage condition.
