Vintage fruit tray by Riccardo Marzi RM, Made in Italy - Firenze, 1990s

Riccardo Marzi from Florence, Italy, came from a family of artists and worked in several studios in Florence in the late fifties. His curiosity about new materials from the very beginning forced him to perform the difficult feat of “inventing” new art. Inspired by fossil amber, Riccardo was fascinated by the idea of using the transparency of resin to create everyday objects that could endlessly preserve the beauty bestowed by Nature.
The Tuscan landscape proved to be an inexhaustible source of inspiration: starting with the use of wheat ears, oak and poplar leaves, broom flowers, oats, etc.
Each work by Riccardo Marzi takes from one to two weeks to create.
The complex process of manual production takes time and effort, but that's what makes Riccardo Marzi's work so exciting and unique.
Riccardo Marzi's works have been on display at MoMA for over 20 years.
The tray is in very good vintage condition. The tray has the original manufacturer's label.
